DANIELLE LLOYD (born 16 December 1983, Liverpool) is a prominent English fashion and glamour model. The former Miss England 2004 and Miss Great Britain 2006, DANIELLE LLOYD is notorious for her part in the 2007 Celebrity Big Brother race row.
DANIELLE LLOYD's first rose to prominence when she was stripped of her Miss Great Britain 2006 title after posing for nude pictures featured in the December 2006 edition of Playboy magazine and her tabloid-alleged affair with one of the judges, her footballer boyfriend at that time Teddy Sheringham.
As a participant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother, DANIELLE LLOYD, along with others, was accused of using bullying tactics and making racist comments directed against the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty.
DANIELLE LLOYD was born in Penny Lane, Liverpool in 1983, the daughter of Jackie and Arthur Lloyd, a bank manager and engineer respectively. At the age of 3 months,
DANIELLE LLOYD contracted whooping cough, resulting in damage to her lungs, this leading to her developing asthma.
DANIELLE LLOYD attended Haileybury school from 1995. At the age of 16 Lloyd began modeling, frequently entering competitions in and around Liverpool. Upon finishing school, she decided to pursue a dual career in modeling and as a beautician specializing in massage.
DANIELLE LLOYD is a qualified nail technician.
Just as DANIELLE LLOYD was beginning her modeling career, she was brutally attacked by her boyfriend of the time. DANIELLE LLOYD was dragged from her moving car after an argument with him, suffering terrible abrasions and severe bruising to her body and losing most of her hair.
DANIELLE LLOYD later said of the attack: “Deep down you can’t forget what’s happened no matter how much counseling you have. You blame yourself and tell yourself you deserve it – I was given help when I most needed it and I want to be able to help others now. Too many women (1 in 4) suffer domestic violence at some time and support centres such as Women’s Aid aren’t able to answer all of the calls due to being under resourced. I'll always do all that I can to help raise awareness and help people. Being in a violent relationship, you are constantly living in fear – and that’s no way for anyone to live their life."
DANIELLE LLOYD claims she was bullied in school however the headmaster of one of Lloyd's old school, St Hilda’s, Chris Yates said: "There's no recollection of her ever being persecuted, she is lying and no teacher can ever recall any incidents where
DANIELLE LLOYD was bullied. In fact I’ve been lead to believe by her former friends that the opposite is true."
DANIELLE LLOYD was crowned Miss England on 17 July 2004 and competed at Miss World 2004.On 26 February 2006,
DANIELLE LLOYD was named Miss Great Britain 2006.
On November 2, 2006,
DANIELLE LLOYD was stripped of her title "following recent claims in the press and magazines and the publicity given on the Playboy Web site for their next issue", according to the Miss Great Britain website. The claim they were referring to was that
DANIELLE LLOYD had been dating Teddy Sheringham, who was one of the judges of the pageant, for more than two months before her victory. This was reported by the media after
DANIELLE LLOYD allegedly said in an interview that Sheringham bought her a pair of shoes for Christmas.
DANIELLE LLOYD continues to claim that the relationship started after the pageant, and that the interview was made up.
DANIELLE LLOYD attributes her topless shoot for the December 2006 issue of Playboy as the primary reason for the loss of her title.
On 11 January 2007 it was revealed that DANIELLE LLOYD was being sued by the Miss Great Britain company for breaking her contract and bringing the company into disrepute. The company is asking for full revelation of the sums
DANIELLE LLOYD earned for the Playboy pictures, plus costs. She has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.
DANIELLE LLOYD next appeared in FHM magazine was a finalist of Miss Maxim 2006.
DANIELLE LLOYD was declared the winner of a "UK Best Breasts" 2006 contest. She has had her 32AA breasts increased by surgery three times, and is presently a 32DD. During her last operation, when her old implants were replaced with newer, larger ones, taking her from a 32D to a 32DD, surgeons removed a benign lump in her right breast. Lloyd was worried that it was cancer, but doctors assured her that the lump was harmless.
DANIELLE LLOYD has revealed that her third operation will be her last, claiming that it is "pointless" going any bigger and that "People say I want to be the new Jordan, but I definitely don't! I want to be myself. I don't mind her boobs but I think they could only suit her."
DANIELLE LLOYD made a memorable appearance on BBC One's Test the Nation. When asked "Who was Winston Churchill - a rapper, US President, the PM or King?", Lloyd answered "Wasn't he the first black president of America? There's a statue of him near me - that's black."

DANIELLE LLOYD was the second housemate to enter the Big Brother House, and had amongst her possessions a blue teddy bear doused in Sheringham's aftershave.DANIELLE LLOYD garnered significant negative publicity when thousands of complaints were filed with Ofcom after she, Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, were bullying and making racist remarks towards their fellow house mate, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.
DANIELLE LLOYD has made about Shetty include "She's a dog" and "They eat with their hands in India, don't they – or is that China? You don't know where her hands have been.". In another outburst, Lloyd said "do you get stubble?"On 17 January 2007
DANIELLE LLOYD famously declared she thought Shetty should "fuck off home", adding that "she can't even speak English properly". Also, after a similar comment by Goody,
DANIELLE LLOYD laughed and said to Goody: "'That was fucking fantastic, I loved it' I think she should fuck off home." When confronted by Big Brother in the Diary Room about why she made the comment,
DANIELLE LLOYD said: "I don't know" and claimed she didn't recall saying it. She admitted that she must have said it for Big Brother to have asked her about it and added that it could be taken in a "bad" way. She concluded that she would talk to Shilpa to make sure she didn't feel excluded in the house, which she did the following morning.
A newspaper interview made before Celebrity Big Brother, from November 2006, revealed DANIELLE LLOYD's anti-immigration views: "If I was (a politician), I'd get more people into work and stop people coming into the country. There's so many people who come into England because they know they can get benefits. People who already live here should get the jobs". It has since become apparent that
DANIELLE LLOYD was warned against racist behaviour prior to going into the house, in an email sent to her by her agent at the time, Angela de Fouw.
The alleged racist behaviour created an international outcry, gaining heavy coverage in the Indian media. Gordon Brown - then the British Chancellor of the Exchequer; now the British Prime Minister - who was incidentlly visiting India at the time, condemned the programme on the grounds that he is against anything which might damage the perception that the United Kingdom is a country of tolerance. In a statement on January 17 Channel 4 defended the programme against charges "of overt racism or racial abuse".However, Trevor Phillips, head of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights, said "What we are seeing is a noxious brew of old-fashioned class conflict, straightforward bullying, ignorance and quite vicious racial bigotry,". He doubted events on Celebrity Big Brother were part of a broader problem
Whilst still in the Big Brother show and prior to either of their evictions, Shetty herself commented on DANIELLE LLOYD's behaviour, saying: "I let Danielle off because she is so young. They (Jade and Jo) made her look bad. You know what really balances it out for Danielle? Her stupidity. She's so innocent." Shetty has largely retained this stance in further discussion and interviews.
DANIELLE LLOYD's family were reported to be devestated by events.
DANIELLE LLOYD's mother said in the News of the World that her family has been "destroyed" by the racist row: "Danielle is at the start of her career and facing ruin because of a TV show that she thought was going to be entertaining and fun. Everything's been taken away from her as well. It has destroyed the family. I'm regretting she went in. Danielle has got a lot of questions to answer when she gets out." She denied her daughter was a racist, claiming: "She will be distraught but she's got to take responsibility. She's been stupid and naive and she's guilty of that (but) I know she didn't mean any racial connotations when she told Shilpa to go home. Danielle's been brought up amongst family friends of all different races. I swear she isn't racist." Furthermore,
DANIELLE LLOYD's aunt directly accused her of racism, adding "It was disgusting the way Danielle treated Shilpa. I'm surprised Big Brother didn't throw her out of the house."''
As a result of her behaviour on the show,
DANIELLE LLOYD lost six-figure modelling contracts with motorcycle insurance firm Bennetts, urban fashion label Rocawear; and designer lingerie website BeCheeky.com among other minor sponsors.
In the immediate aftermath to
DANIELLE LLOYD's comments to Shetty, several tabloids reported that her then boyfriend, Teddy Sheringham, ended his relationship with her: the reasons for doing so including his own sense of disgust at her actions on the programme; the fact that he then played in a team (West Ham United) that is made up of over 50% non-white players; and because of his concern for the safety his own off-field commercial activities and reputation.
DANIELLE LLOYD eventually came fifth in the contest, with 3.3% of the vote to save her.
During
DANIELLE LLOYD's post-eviction interview with Davina McCall she said "I feel terrible" and insisted her comments had nothing to do with Shetty's race, but rather a simple personality/ culture clash.
DANIELLE LLOYD apologized for her behavior towards the Bollywood star, insisting her remarks had been made "in the heat of the moment. I wasn't laughing at Shilpa... it was just nerves. I hate confrontation." Asked what she had learned on the show, she said: "Not to be such a bitch." Davina then replied, in a telling off kind of manner 'Good'.
DANIELLE LLOYD then appeared on the following morning's This Morning program to defend herself.
DANIELLE LLOYD largely defended her behavior in Celebrity Big Brother, claiming she "didn't do anything wrong". In an interview with Katie Price and Peter Andre on their Unleashed program for ITV2,
DANIELLE LLOYD insisted she had merely acted like a "silly, bitchy girl, like all girls can be bitchy".
DANIELLE LLOYD played down the trio's behavior, saying: "I think that maybe they came out and apologized for things that they didn’t really do. Whereas I felt like I didn’t really do anything wrong in the house. I was probably being a silly, bitchy girl in the house, like all girls can be bitchy." One of
DANIELLE LLOYD's defence mechanisms in seeking to excuse her behavior in the house was to exploit her relatively young age.
In May 2007,
DANIELLE LLOYD attended Shilpa Shetty's movie premiere at Leicester Square. The movie, Life In A... Metro was the first Bollywood movie Lloyd has seen. The two hugged and kissed on the red carpet in front of fans. The appearance was alleged to have been little more than a damage-limitation exercise by
DANIELLE LLOYD; Jade Goody was also scheduled to attend the premiere, but her invite was pulled at the last minute.
DANIELLE LLOYD has recently been appearing on numerous covers of The Daily Star newspaper (initially at a rate of at least three to four times a week) after signing an exclusive deal with the publication. Having somewhat limited her carreer damage from CBB5,
DANIELLE LLOYD has continued her non-modelling career as a highly successful professional "celebrity for hire." Since her departure from Celebrity Big Brother,
DANIELLE LLOYD has made various promotional appearances. On 13 April, Lloyd flew to Dublin with Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas to open a nightclub in the suburb of Rathfarnham, supposedly at a fee of 6,000 euros for the short appearance.
DANIELLE LLOYD recently launched a mobile phone safety campaign after her own mobile was stolen in a Liverpool club. The "Keep It Safe & Secure" campaign, backed by the National Mobile Phone Crime Unit encourages mobile users to take greater safety precautions when using their phone.
DANIELLE LLOYD has reputedly signed a publishing deal to write a book documenting her experiences in the Celebrity Big Brother house. She will shortly make her film debut with a role in a new independent British film The Be All And End All.DANIELLE LLOYD has also had numerous television appearances over 2007-8, seen as a guest-star on ITV2's WAGs Boutique, participating in a Glamour Models Special of The Weakest Link, winning £8,950 for charity. Lloyd was featured on MTV Cribs in May 2008.

Lloyd dated footballer Teddy Sherringham from March 2006 to February 2007. Reports suggested Sherringham terminated the relationship due to her behavior on Celebrity Big Bother 2007. However, Lloyd claims he was in contact with her on the night of her eviction. Indeed, they initially reunited upon her return from a post-eviction holiday, though the relationship officially ended February 15th 2007, with
DANIELLE LLOYD conceding that it didn't feel the same anymore.
Following the split from Sheringham,
DANIELLE LLOYD has been linked with a string of footballers including Marcus Bent, Armand Traoré, Jermaine Defoe and former Manchester United defender Gerard Piqué, as well as 50 Cent and Big Brother 8 contestant Liam.
